Wrapping Up

Before the semester is officially over, I would like to bring your attention to two news on social media I read earlier this week.

The first one is on the addition of becoming an organ donor in Facebook timeline. It's really simple and I think Zuckerberg got it right again: the objective of this new feature is to help people who are unsure of whether they should become donors, decide to do it. Of course, this is non-binding -even if you sign up to become an organ donor, a lot depends on what your family wants after you die, so it's important to educate them on your will. It'd be interesting to see some numbers on this. I must accept that at first, I didn't like the timeline very much, but it's growing on me, especially for "public figure" and company pages because it makes it really easy to highlight accomplishments.

The other article is about Pinstagram; yeah, a comple of guys decided they loved them enough to merge them in a website, so you can pin your instagram pics to a blackboard. It seems a very natural use of Pinterest given that its main function is to serve as a display for anything interesting, so why not display your own pictures? Even without it, Pinterest itself might be a great tool for photographs, museums (or anything art history related), auctions and libraries. I might start using it more now.

Anyways, it was a great semester. I enjoyed PPA730 very much, so thank you all. And good luck with finals.
